What sets us apart
A comprehensive program, not just a series of courses
Most institutes offer individual courses. We offer a journey — a two-year training program with supervision, monthly practice days, and clearly defined milestones, culminating in registration in the international registry as a Watsu® Practitioner.
Over the course of two years, you will complete 204 hours of core training, more than one hundred hours of supplementary modules, and dozens of hours of independent practice under the guidance of certified instructors.

Who it’s for
You don’t need to be a massage therapist to get started
The program is open to anyone aged 18 or over who is medically fit to work in an aquatic environment. Previous education or experience in bodywork is an advantage, but not a requirement for admission.

Instructors
Who will teach you
Core modules are taught by certified Watsu® instructors and assistants. Watsu® 3 is taught by international senior instructors, always with professional interpretation.

Renáta Tejnská
Physiotherapist, registered Watsu® practitioner and assistant, Watsu® Basic instructor
Renáta graduated in physiotherapy and algotherapy. As part of her postgraduate education, she focused on musculoskeletal medicine and neurophysiotherapeutic methods, which are an integral part of her daily work in outpatient care. She shares her acquired knowledge and practical experience with physiotherapy students, teaches methods of working with clients, and leads various personal development seminars.
In cooperation with other members of the Watsu for Health organization, she advocates for the standardization of quality in the provision of Watsu® therapy and for its interdisciplinary integration. In her Watsu® teaching, she aims to focus primarily on physiotherapy students.
Alongside her diverse professional activities, she is also a woman, mother, and Scout leader.

What it’s like with us
Frequently Asked Questions
What you ask most often
Can I really enroll without massage therapy training?
Yes. You only need a professional touch qualification to practise independently, and you can complete it during the program.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No. You do not need to know how to swim — this applies to both the practitioner and the receiver. The entire session takes place in a pool approximately 120 cm deep. However, it is important to feel comfortable in the water and not be tense or stressed.
Do I need my own pool?
No. The training takes place in pools that meet the requirements for aquatic therapy work.
How long does the program actually take?
The standard duration is 24 months. However, the program allows you to complete modules at different times and, where justified, to adjust the pace.
Will you recognize a course I completed elsewhere?
Yes. Courses completed with other certified instructors within WABA can be recognized.
What language is the training conducted in?
Primarily in Czech and Slovak. Advanced modules taught by international instructors are conducted in English, always with professional interpretation.
